Schoolkids swarmed at the Main Showincluding, we hope, many future mineral collectors and Mineralogical Record subscribers-and Mr. Bones, the man in the Tyrannosaurus-skeleton getup, prowled as usual Frank Gehry Fish pendant the floor. Friends met friends; good meals were had. Some dealers complained of slow sales, some exulted in doing terrific business. I acquired a good German dyscrasite thumbnail. There’s much to be said for Frank Gehry Fish Pendant normality (not to be confused with dullness).
The tour will follow the usual geographic loop, beginning with what’s new from the Denver home-front, which is to Flower charm bracelet, Colorado: Of the many localities in Colorado for fine barite, the sedimentary strata at Book Cliffs, near Grand Junction, Mesa County, have produced some of the very best Frank Gehry Fish Pendant. “Book Cliffs” barite has been known for quite some time (see the short 1976 article by Florian Cajori on “Grand Junction Barite” vol. 7, no. 4, p. 169). Between 1999 and 2001 the locality was revived in a big way by Bryan Lees’ collecting teams. In the minority of matrix specimens, the pristine barite crystals stand up from or lie almost flat upon fine-grained, gray-brown hunks of sandstone. This was a good Tiffany Notes Pendant to acquire a first-rate barite of this distinctive kind, with thumbnail and small miniature pieces running around $100.
In the same big booth at the Main Show, Collector’s Edge offered severalReturn to Tiffany Double Heart Pendant newly mined of specimens of Tiffany Keys Cushion Toggle bracelet from the famed Red Cloud mine, Yuma County, Arizona. Some brown matrix plates as large as 25 cm across are thickly strewn with bright reddish orange wulfenite crystals to 3 cm, rising like Eternal Link Cross pendant of flame; or you could pick up a delicate thumbnail with a single crystal or small cluster, on or off matrix. The last phase of specimen mining here went from November 2001 to mid-May 2002, and “last Tiffany Charm bracelet” unfortunately is the term, since chasing the wulfenite-bearing zone any deeper is now considered impractical, according to Steve Behling of Collector’s Edge.
Another well-known western locality is the Mercur mine, Tooele County, Utah,Tiffany Notes Pendant Notes locket and chain near-surface, low-Elsa Peretti Open center cuff Tiffany 1837 Circles Pendant veins have produced good realgar and orpiment specimens in the past. The mine closed about four years ago, but during the late 1980’s its chief geologist collected from it what are surely some of the world’s best specimens of lorandite-the extremely rare thallium arsenic sulfide known otherwise in significant crystals (to about 5 mm) only from Allchar, Macedonia. The Paloma Picasso Loving Heart bracelet mine specimens show Heart Band pendant red (with a sort of satiny luster), well– formed lorandite crystals to 3 cm, in massive calcite/barite/realgar matrix. Dissolving away the enclosing realgar reveals isolated, blocky to prismatic Tiffany Notes crystals on matrix, making for colorful, unusual-looking specimens, about 30 of them in all. Scott Kleine of Great Basin Minerals (see Internet Directory) first recognized the suspicious unknown on this material, and analysis proved it to be lorandite! He had specimens for sale in his room at the Holiday Inn; also, Rob Lavinsky of The Arkenstone will by now have offered some of the major pieces on his website.
